Omega Games & Winners

It's nice to finish up LB&LI on the same day one of my novels is released. No, I didn't plan it that way, but today my latest StarDoc novel, Omega Games, hits the shelves:

The winners of the VW#8 giveaway are:

Darkyn novels: Paige Maddison

Goodie bag: Jay Montville

Winners, please send your full name and ship-to address to LynnViehl@aol.com, and I'll get these prizes out to you.

Before I announce the LB&LI grand prize winner, a couple of things:

I would like to express my appreciation for all of the writers who held LB&LI workshops on their web sites and weblogs this year. You shared some terrific information on writing and the biz, you gave generously of your time and talent, and you made this little summer fling of mine into a real event. Thank you so much. You guys are the best.

A little later today I will be posting this e-book version of all my LB&LI workshops on Scribd*; stay tuned for the link. The LB&LI 2008 e-book containing all of the workshops on PBW is now available to read online, download and/or print on Scribd here, or just click on the cover art. *Note 9/3/10: Since Scribd.com instituted an access fee scam to charge people for downloading e-books, including those I have provided for free for the last ten years, I have removed my free library from their site, and no longer use or recommend using their service. My free reads may be read online or downloaded for free from Google Docs; go to my freebies and free reads page for the links. See my post about this scam here.

I do have one request to make of everyone who stopped in and made the rounds of the LB&LI workshops this year. If you found information that helped you, please share it with other writers. Also, if you'd like to say thanks to an author who hosted an LB&LI workshop, a great way to do that is to buy one of their books. You can usually find a bookseller link to their latest release on the sidebar of their weblog (mine are right over there, in case you want to show a little PBW love) or on a books page on their web site.

That about does it. Whoops, one more thing.

The winner of the LB&LI grand prize, a brand new AlphaSmart Neo, is:

Chris Redding

Chris, when you have a chance, send your ship-to info to LynnViehl@aol.com.

Thank you all for joining in and making this a wonderful week.

  1. What a great idea to put all the workshops together in one book.

Thank you so much for organizing this again this year, and thank you to all the wonderful authors who contributed.

  2. It was the best conference I've never attended!

And, like every conference, I found new authors to like.

I have to go visit the dealer's room--er, the bookstore--now.

Wow... thank you for putting your workshops together in a format we can all keep! I love knowing that I can refer to them easily.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in these workshops. I not only found the workshops valuable but also the comments.

I wasn't able to visit all the blogs during the Left Behind conference, but I'm looking forward to visiting and catching up. It's great to discover all these new authors!

  4. Congrats to the lucky winners. And I can't wait to get my grubby paws on Omega Games. The other thing I forgot to mention about how much I love your LB&LI workshops is the fact that it's a great way to discover new authors. I've now got a loooong list of people whose books I'll be frantically chucking onto my TBR pile! Hee. I'm going to be so broke.

  9. I checked out some of the plotting workshops, and they provided some food for thought. Unfortunately, I'm too busy writing my daily Reader's Almanac to spend time learning.

(Also, I'm digging into the StarDoc galley you awarded me a few months back. And working. And gardening. And memorizing the kids' names ... )

  15. Oh, thanks for putting this into ebook form. I did the same for my workshop and created a Scribd account to put it on. Spread the convenience!

And hurrah on Omega Games. I held off buying it until the official street date, so now it can be mine!

  16. I received word yesterday that my copy of Omega Games is on it's way to a mailbox near me.

Thanks to you and all the workshop hosters for a fine, fine week chock full of fantastic information.

And is it just me or does the cover StarDoc look a lot like Danica Patrick (the Indy Car driver)?

  20. Thanks for collecting everything together in an ebook and for including the more contentful comments/questions and your responses. I thought to ask if you would do that, but you had already done it by the time I thought of it. Hope it wasn't too tedious a task. Thanks again.
